Dera ismail khan: A woman was killed and five people, including women and children, were injured in two separate road accidents in Pakistan’s northwestern Dera Ismail Khan district on Sunday, rescue and police officials said.
The first accident occurred near the Ahl-e-Islam graveyard on Multan Road, within the jurisdiction of Cantt Police Station, where a motorcycle collided with a Datsun pickup truck.
A 35-year-old woman, identified as Zarina Bibi, wife of Juma Khan and a resident of Lang Khair Shah, was killed at the scene, while her son, Muhammad Baloch, sustained minor injuries. He was shifted to the District Headquarters Civil Hospital for treatment.
In a separate incident near Kanta Mor, close to Kiliwal Petrol Pump in the limits of Paroa Police Station, a speeding passenger van overturned, injuring four passengers, including women and children.
Rescue personnel provided first aid to the injured before transferring them to a hospital. Authorities were investigating the circumstances surrounding both accidents.
