Lodhran: A traditional sports ‘dangal’ (wrestling) was organized by the district administration in Mehrabad Sharif to celebrate the historic Makka defence agreement between Pakistan. Trkiye and Saudi Arabia. as well as the upcoming Independence Day celebrations.
Deputy Commissioner. Muhammad Ashraf. Additional Deputy Commissioner Liaqat Ali Gilani. Umair Khan Baloch. Pir Rafiuddin Shah and other prominent personalities attended the event. where distinguished guests were also honored through traditional dastar bandi.
The wrestling competition attracted a large number of citizens. prominent wrestlers and sports enthusiasts. Chief Officer District Council Syed Muslehuddin and District Sports Officer Sajid Mahmood were also present.
Addressing the gathering. Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Ashraf described the Makka mutual defence agreement among Pakistan. Trkiye and Saudi Arabia as a landmark development of historic significance.
He said the agreement would further strengthen the three Muslim countries in terms of defence and cooperation. adding that the people of Lodhran appreciated the vision and capabilities of their national leadership. Ashraf said organizing sports activities to mark the historic agreement and Independence Day was a good omen. He added that traditional wrestling competitions promoted discipline. endurance. physical strength and a spirit of healthy competition among young athletes.
The deputy commissioner said sports activities brought joy to communities and assured that the district administration would continue organizing such events to promote sports and provide healthy recreational opportunities to citizens.
