Multan: The district administration decided to further intensify anti-dengue campaign by constituting special teams for the elimination of dengue larvae on the directives of Deputy Commissioner Dr. Faisal Saleem.

The decision was made during a meeting attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Rashid Iqbal and officers of the relevant departments, where the ongoing anti-dengue measures were reviewed in detail.

Deputy Commissioner Dr. Faisal Saleem directed the Health department to strengthen door-to-door surveillance, ensure continuous monitoring of dengue hotspots, and carry out timely destruction of mosquito larvae. He also directed all concerned departments to accelerate field operations to prevent the spread of dengue.

Dr. Saleem ordered the launch of a comprehensive campaign to educate citizens about cleanliness and preventive measures and masses should not stay stagnant water in homes, offices, or commercial premises, as it provides breeding grounds for dengue mosquitoes.

The Deputy Commissioner clarified that strict action would be taken against poor sanitation and violations of the Dengue Prevention Act without discrimination. He further announced that any commercial premises found with dengue larvae would be sealed immediately.

Dr. Faisal Saleem reaffirmed that no negligence would be tolerated in the anti-dengue drive, adding that all departments would work in close coordination to safeguard public health.

Rawalpindi: Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) and Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), HJ, has reiterated that terrorism emanating from across the borders will be crushed with the full might of the state.

Addressing the graduating officers of the National Security and War Course comprising participants from all services at National Defence University (NDU), the COAS said the Armed Forces, with the support of the nation, will ensure that terrorist sanctuaries of these proxies along with their facilitators are completely dismantled, said a news release issued by Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR).

He said that the Armed Forces remain fully cognizant of state-sponsored attempts by hostile intelligence agencies to destabilize Pakistan. Efforts of such proxies and networks, who operate under the tutelage of hostile intelligence agencies are futile and will not be allowed to undermine Pakistan’s internal security and economic prosperity, he said.

The Field Marshal highlighted the evolving character of warfare and underscored centrality of strategic clarity and institutional professionalism in navigating complex strategic issues.

He lauded the role of premier institutions like NDU in nurturing future military-civil leadership capable of mitigating hybrid, conventional and sub-conventional threats with foresight, confidence and resolve.

The Field Marshal also highlighted that Pakistan Armed Forces were recalibrating their employment and development strategies in line with the evolved character of warfare.

The Field Marshal remarked that wars are not won through media rhetoric or political sloganeering but through faith, unity and discipline.

Expressing full confidence in the professionalism, morale and operational readiness of the battle-hardened Armed Forces of Pakistan, the COAS urged the graduating officers to dutifully adhere to the values of integrity, selfless service and unwavering commitment to the nation.

Earlier, upon arrival at National Defence University the Field Marshal was received by the President NDU.
