Gujar khan: A grand weekly congregation organised by Dawat-e-Islami will be held in Gujar Khan on Thursday, July 9, at 7pm at Roz Mahal Marquee, Jandi Mor, near the Shell Petrol Pump on the Main GT Road.

According to the organisers, the gathering will feature a special address by Haji Waqar-ul-Madina, a member of Dawat-e-Islami’s Central Majlis-e-Shura, who will deliver a sermon focusing on the teachings and practices of the Holy Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him), said a press release.

The proceedings will also be broadcast live on Madani Channel, enabling devotees of the Holy Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) across Pakistan and abroad to benefit from the programme.

The district in-charge of Dawat-e-Islami in Gujar Khan has appealed to devotees from Gujar Khan, Jhelum and surrounding areas to attend the congregation in large numbers.

Faisalabad: Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Nauman Siddique on Tuesday directed for strict implementation of anti-dengue strategy to overcome the larva once for all. Presiding over a meeting of District Emergency Response Committee for dengue prevention, he directed all departments to formulate a comprehensive anti-dengue strategy in view of the ongoing monsoon season and implement it strictly in letter and spirit. He stressed the need for eliminating all potential dengue breeding sites and instructed anti-dengue teams to maintain an active field presence with vigilant surveillance to ensure that no hotspot remained undetected. He said that anti-dengue activities must be genuine and result-oriented rather than merely fulfilling formalities. He directed the officials to ensure continuous monitoring of identified hotspots and timely surveillance to prevent the spread of dengue larvae.

Rawalpindi: Deputy Commissioner Rawalpindi Capt. (R) Nadeem Nasir has said that public service, transparent governance, and timely resolution of citizens’ issues are among the top priorities of the district administration.

He expressed these views during a meeting with Rawalpindi Cantonment Board (RCB) Vice President Zahid Bakhtawari, who called on him to congratulate him on assuming his new responsibilities and conveyed his best wishes. Former RCB Vice President Inayatullah was also present on the occasion.

During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on Rawalpindi’s development, improvement of civic facilities, public welfare initiatives, ongoing development projects, and other matters of mutual interest. Zahid Bakhtawari also presented a bouquet to the Deputy Commissioner.

Capt. (R) Nadeem Nasir said that the district administration would maintain close coordination and cooperation with all relevant institutions, elected public representatives, and social figures to ensure effective implementation of development and welfare projects and provide better facilities to citizens.

He thanked Zahid Bakhtawari and Inayatullah for their visit and congratulatory wishes, adding that all government departments and public representatives would work together to meet public expectations. He said that every possible step would be taken to ensure timely resolution of citizens’ problems, promote an efficient and transparent administrative system, and accelerate the pace of development projects.

Speaking on the occasion, Zahid Bakhtawari expressed confidence that Capt. (R) Nadeem Nasir would further improve administrative affairs in Rawalpindi through his professional abilities, honesty, and public-friendly approach. He said that cooperation between the district administration and public representatives was essential for providing quality civic services to citizens and ensuring timely completion of development projects.

Larkana: On the directions of the Deputy Commissioner, Kamber-Shahdadkot, a district-wide crackdown against overpricing of LPG and petrol was carried out across various talukas of the district.

Assistant Commissioners Mukhtiarkars along with the concerned authorities, inspected LPG outlets/ shops and petrol filling stations to ensure compliance with the government-approved prices. Strict action was taken against violators, and fines were imposed on shopkeepers and dealers found involved in overcharging.

The District Administration, Kamber-Shahdadkot, remains committed to protecting consumers’ rights and ensuring the effective implementation of government directives for the benefit of the general public.

Sukkur: Aror University of Art, Architecture, Design and Heritage, Sukkur on Tuesday organized an Orientation Day for newly enrolled students of the Fall 2026 intake, Round-2, marking the formal start of their academic journey.

The event was aimed at familiarizing students with university systems, academic programs, and campus facilities.

Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Zahid Hussain Khand welcomed the students and highlighted the significance of the Foundation Course in developing essential academic and professional skills required for success in their respective fields.

Faculty members briefed students on academic policies, discipline, and available support services. The program also included an interactive question and answer session, where students engaged with faculty and staff to clarify their queries and expectations.

As part of the orientation, document verification was also carried out to ensure a smooth transition into university life.

The university administration expressed confidence that the new batch will contribute positively to the academic and creative environment of the institution.

Muzaffargarh: A man was killed while two others sustained injuries after a makeshift roof structure collapsed during the construction work adjacent to a mosque in Basti Mubarakpur, Khan Garh area near here Tuesday. According to Rescue 1122, the dead was identified as Javed Hussain while injured were identified as Muhammad Asghar and Abdul Razzaq. On information, emergency teams rushed to the scene and pulled out the victims from the debris. Rescue personnel provided first aid to the injured at the site, while one victim was administered cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). All the victims were shifted to Indus Hospital, Muzaffargarh, for further treatment. The cause of collapse was yet to be ascertained.
