6,000kg adulterated Gram Flour seized in Abbottabad

Abbottabad: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Food Safety and Halal Food Authority Hazara team has seized around 6,000 kilograms of substandard and adulterated gram flour (besan) during a checking operation at an entry point of Abbottabad.

The gram flour was being transported in a truck and was tested through a mobile food testing laboratory. After the initial sample failed the required standards, it was sent to the Provincial Food Testing Laboratory for further verification.

The provincial laboratory also declared the sample substandard and adulterated, following which the Food Safety team seized the entire consignment and took it into official custody.

The Food Authority said inspections and enforcement operations would continue to ensure the supply of safe and quality food to consumers. Officials added that no compromise would be made on food safety standards.
