Multan: The Children’s Hospital, in collaboration with Rescue 1122, conducted mock drills on fire safety and emergency response to ensure effective preparedness for any untoward incident and safeguard the lives of young patients. The mock drills at Children Hospital was held under the supervision of Dean Prof Dr Kashif Chishti and Medical Superintendent Dr Kamran Asif. During the exercise, hospital staff were given practical training in immediate response to a fire emergency, safe evacuation of patients, proper use of firefighting equipment and effective emergency response procedures.
The hospital administration and Rescue 1122 teams also simulated different emergency scenarios to assess the preparedness, coordination, communication and response time of the staff. Speaking on the occasion, Prof Dr Kashif Chishti and Dr Kamran Asif said safety of children admitted to the hospital was the administration’s top priority. They stressed the need for regular training and mock exercises to ensure that hospital staff remained fully prepared to respond swiftly and effectively to emergencies. They said such drills would be conducted regularly to further strengthen the hospital’s emergency response mechanism and minimise risks to patients, attendants and staff.
