Bahawalpur: Commissioner Irfan Ali Kathia chaired a meeting to review progress on the ‘Apna Khet Apna Rozgar’ scheme, including the applications received and the ongoing scrutiny process. The meeting directed officials to complete the scrutiny of applications at the earliest, stressing that
ensuring timely delivery of the benefits of government initiatives to deserving people was among the government’s top priorities.
Commissioner Irfan Ali Kathia said the ‘Apna Khet Apna Rozgar’ scheme, launched by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz to empower landless farmers, was a revolutionary initiative aimed at providing them access to agricultural land and helping them achieve economic stability.
He directed the concerned authorities to complete without delay all remaining formalities concerning beneficiaries who had already been allotted land under the scheme. He further ordered that beneficiaries whose documentation and other formalities had been completed should be immediately given possession of their allotted land. Relevant officers were directed to visit the sites and ensure that possession was handed over to landless beneficiaries without unnecessary delay.
The Commissioner emphasized that all stages of the ‘Apna Khet Apna Rozgar’ scheme must be completed transparently, on merit and within the prescribed timelines. He said deserving applicants should not face any unnecessary delay in receiving the benefits of the initiative. He directed all relevant officers to take practical measures to ensure that the benefits of the scheme reached the genuinely deserving beneficiaries.
Deputy Commissioner Bahawalpur Syed Hasan Raza, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Shagufta Jabeen, Managing Director Cholistan Development Authority Shahid Hasan Kalyani and other relevant officers attended the meeting.
Deputy Commissioner Rahim Yar Khan Zaheer Anwar Jappa and Deputy Commissioner Bahawalnagar Syed Muhammad Abbas Shah participated in the meeting through video link.
