Church delegation visits University of Gujrat


Gujrat: A delegation of the Church of Pakistan visited the University of Gujrat (UoG) and met Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Zahoor-ul-Haq to discuss minority representation, inclusion and educational opportunities in higher education.



According to an official source, the Vice Chancellor briefed the delegation on the university’s comprehensive scholarship policy, under which financial assistance is being provided to minority students, transgender persons, orphans and students belonging to 15 different categories.



Prof. Dr. Zahoor-ul-Haq said the scholarship programme was based on the principles of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) and aimed at removing financial barriers and ensuring equal access to higher education.



He said the university was currently providing scholarships and financial assistance to 10,953 students, with nearly half of the university’s students benefiting from financial support for their education.



The delegation appreciated the Vice Chancellor’s vision and leadership and lauded the university’s efforts to promote equal educational opportunities for students from diverse and disadvantaged backgrounds.
