Sargodha: The first meeting of District Scrutiny Committee was held to consider 22 cases referred by the Tribunal established for the prompt, transparent and merit-based resolution of disputes related to ownership of immovable property at the district level.
The meeting was chaired by Additional Deputy Commissioner Revenue Khawar Bashir Ahmed and SP Investigation Imran Chadhar and attended by Assistant Commissioners of all tehsils, DSPs, District Attorneys and other officers concerned. In the meeting, both the petitioners who had filed the petition with the Tribunal and the persons or parties against whom the petitions were filed appeared before the committee.
The committee heard the position of both the parties in detail and examined the documents and evidence presented by them. The concerned revenue officers also presented the official revenue records, personal, death, registry and other available documents and reports related to each case before the committee.
The committee reviewed the facts and legal and administrative aspects of each case in detail, keeping in mind the positions of the parties, official records and reports of the concerned officers. The meeting emphasized on ensuring that the parties in each case were given a full opportunity to present their positions and recommendations are formulated on the basis of facts after complete verification of the revenue records, so that no injustice is done to any party and the tribunal could be effectively assisted in deciding on the merits.
The District Scrutiny Committee will submit its recommendations to the tribunal again after completing the necessary scrutiny and action of the 22 cases referred by the tribunal. This process will help ensure transparency in the resolution of disputes related to immovable property, fulfillment of legal requirements and protection of the rights of parties.
