Peshawar: A university student was shot dead near Abasyn University on Dalazak Road here, reportedly over a long-standing feud.
According to police on Monday, the deceased was identified as Sajid Khan, son of Gharib Gul, resident of Gulabad. Sajid was a student of Abasyn University and had reportedly returned to Peshawar from Punjab last night.
Initial reports said that unidentified assailants opened fire on Sajid near the university, killing him on the spot. Following the incident, the victim’s family reached Faqirabad Police Station. Police collected evidence from the scene and launched an investigation into the killing.
The initial motive was believed to be a previous enmity, although the exact circumstances behind the incident and the identities of the attackers will be determined as the investigation progresses.
