Hyderabad: Deputy Commissioner Zain-ul-Abedin Memon here on Sunday visited Thandi Sarak Water Supply Pumping Station to inspect the ongoing repair work and review the water supply situation affecting Latifabad and other parts of Hyderabad City.
During the visit, officials briefed the DC telling that 2 major pumping motors supplying water to Latifabad were currently under repair.
According to them, the first motor was expected to be repaired, installed, and made operational by 9 pm on Sunday night, enabling the partial restoration of water supply to Latifabad.
They added that the second motor would require an additional 24 hours to become functional.
They assured the DC that after the ongoing repairs the water supply shortage in Latifabad taluka and in other parts of the city would end.
Memon directed the official of Hyderabad Water and Sewerage Corporation (HWandSC) to expedite the repair work and to ensure that all available resources were utilized to restore normal water supply at the earliest.
He also instructed them to maintain close coordination throughout the operation and to keep the public regularly informed regarding the restoration schedule.
