Faisalabad: Precious material kept at a fruit chaat shop was reduced to ashes when a fire broke out in the jurisdiction of Jhang Bazaar Police Station on Tuesday.
According to Rescue 1122 spokesman, the fire erupted at Waqar Fruit Chaat shop near Minhaj-ul-Quran Mosque in Gulshan Colony due to a short circuit in the compressor of a deep freezer.
The flames quickly engulfed plastic tables and chairs kept inside the shop, posing a risk of spreading to adjoining shops in the busy market.
Rescue 1122 firefighters rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control after hectic efforts, preventing it from spreading to nearby commercial premises.
However, no loss of life or injury was reported in the incident, the spokesman added.
