Hyderabad: The Mayor of Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (HMC), Kashif Ali Shoro directed the corporation’s staff and Sindh Solid Waste Management Board (SSWMB) to ensure disposal of solid waste and fumigation on a regular basis to contain the spread of dengue.
Chairing a meeting at the mayor’s secretariat here on Sunday, the mayor also directed Hyderabad Water and Sewerage Corporation to ensure that its drainage network was working efficiently and that all leakages in the network were also plugged.
He emphasized that all necessary measures should be taken to curtail the growth of mosquitos.
“No negligence in the dengue control initiative would be tolerated,” the mayor warned, adding that he would himself monitor the control operations in all the Town Municipal Corporations (TMCs).
The medical superintendents of hospitals of the public and private sectors also attended the meeting and briefed the mayor about the measures taken by the health facilities for prompt treatment of dengue infected patients.
