Rawalpindi: District authorities on Saturday emphasized strict timelines and comprehensive quality monitoring across all ongoing infrastructure and civic projects under the Rawalpindi Development Plan to upgrade urban facilities across the district.
Evaluating progress during an inter-departmental review meeting here Saturday, Deputy Commissioner Captain (Retd) Nadeem Nasir instructed officials of the Rawalpindi Development Authority, WASA, Municipal Corporation, Highways, Public Health Engineering and Parks and Horticulture Authority to eliminate delays and maintain high engineering standards. Captain (Retd) Nadeem Nasir emphasized that the development plan aims to deliver modern civic infrastructure, optimized traffic management systems, clean environments, and reliable basic utilities to residents.
The Deputy Commissioner directed the departmental heads to execute continuous field audits, ensure inter-agency coordination and design projects with long-term sustainability in mind across road networks, drainage, water supply, sewage systems, and green spaces.
Officials were instructed to submit regular progress updates to resolve field bottlenecks promptly.
The DC also warned that unnecessary delays or administrative negligence in project completion will draw strict regulatory scrutiny.
