Peshawar: Special Assistant to the Chief Minister on Home and Tribal Affairs Tariq Saeed Khan Marwat on Tuesday attended a special seminar organized by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Counter Violent Extremism (KPCVE) as the chief guest, reaffirming the provincial government’s unwavering commitment to sustainable peace and the elimination of extremism.
Addressing the participants, Tariq Saeed Marwat said that establishing lasting peace in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, eradicating extremism, and ensuring the protection of citizens remain the top priorities of the present government.
He emphasized that peace, stability, and a secure Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are a shared responsibility of both the government and the people.
The seminar featured detailed discussions on counter-terrorism strategies, prevention of extremism, promotion of law and order, and fostering tolerance and mutual respect in society.
Speakers highlighted the importance of collective efforts, community engagement, and youth empowerment in building a resilient and harmonious social fabric.
The special assistant lauded the role of KPCVE in creating awareness and developing comprehensive frameworks to counter radical narratives.
He further stated that the government is investing in education, vocational training, and sports activities for the youth to divert their energies toward constructive pursuits. “When our young generation is equipped with skills, education, and opportunities, they become the strongest defenders of peace and progress, ” he remarked.
He urged all segments of society, including religious scholars, educators, civil society, and the media, to play their due role in promoting interfaith harmony, social cohesion, and the true teachings of Islam that emphasize peace, compassion, and brotherhood.
