Peshawar: The Population Welfare Department District Peshawar on Wednesday organized a solidarity rally on the occasion of Youm-e-Istehsal-e-Kashmir to express unwavering support for the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).
District Population Welfare Officer (DPWO) Peshawar Samiullah Khan Khalil led the rally, which was attended by department officers and staff including Kashif Fida, Shahid Murad and Shahzeb Khan, as well as in-charges of all welfare centers in the district.
Participants carried Pakistani and Kashmiri flags, banners and placards inscribed with slogans of solidarity with the Kashmiri people and condemnation of Indian atrocities.
They formed a human chain to demonstrate unity with the people of occupied Jammu and Kashmir and chanted slogans against Indian oppression.
The participants renewed their pledge that the people of Pakistan will always stand shoulder to shoulder with their Kashmiri brothers and sisters in their just struggle for the right to self-determination.
Addressing the rally, Samiullah Khan Khalil said that August 5, 2019 was a black day in the history of the Kashmiri people when the Indian government revoked the special constitutional status of occupied Jammu and Kashmir, violating United Nations resolutions and international laws.
He said the Pakistani nation would continue its full support for the legitimate freedom struggle of the Kashmiri people and would keep condemning the atrocities of Indian forces at every level.
He said that Youm-e-Istehsal-e-Kashmir reminds us of the sacrifices and steadfastness of the Kashmiri people. Every citizen of Pakistan supports the right to self-determination of the Kashmiri people, and it is resolved that their voice will continue to be raised on every forum, he added.
At the conclusion of the rally, the participants expressed complete solidarity with the Kashmiri people and raised slogans of “Kashmir banay ga Pakistan” and against Indian atrocities.
