Lahore: Punjab Revenue Authority (PRA) is all set to tighten noose around taxpayers involved in fraudulent practices in monthly tax returns. The accuracy of business activities declared in tax returns and the taxes deposited will be scrutinized through data analysis. A meeting on achieving monthly revenue targets was chaired by PRA Chairman Moazzam Iqbal Sipra here on Tuesday. The meeting reviewed the collections achieved by all regional offices and relevant officers against their assigned revenue targets. The Chairman directed officers to ensure effective monitoring and follow-up to improve the tax return filing rate. He ordered that enforcement activities be accelerated to further broaden the tax base and bring new taxpayers in to the tax system. He also directed officers to identify low-revenue sectors and taxpayers and expedite the implementation of corrective measures.
