Peshawar: The Additional Sessions Judge in Mardan has sentenced Station House Officer (SHO) Rustum, Irfan, to six months in prison and imposed a fine of Rs. 5,000 for contempt of court.
According to the court on Thursday, the police failed to comply with a judicial order and did not submit the case record despite repeated notices.
The court had summoned SHO Irfan to appear and present the case record, but he failed to appear before the court.
Taking notice of the violation of its order, Additional Sessions Judge Muhammad Zahoor found SHO Irfan guilty of contempt of court and awarded him six months imprisonment along with a fine of Rs. 5,000.
