Six illegal billboards removed in DI Khan crackdown

Dera ismail khan: The district administration has launched a crackdown on illegally installed billboards in the city, removing six such structures from Sheikh Yousaf Chowk during an operation against encroachments.

The action was carried out under the supervision of Assistant Commissioner Dr Hamid Siddiq after complaints from residents prompted an inspection of temporary encroachments at the busy intersection.

The administration, accompanied by relevant TMA staff, also found that several billboards had been installed without legal permission.

The six illegal billboards were dismantled and taken into official custody under municipal laws. The administration has also formed a special team to conduct daily operations against unauthorised billboards and ordered the registration of FIRs against those responsible for violating the law.

Officials said illegal billboards not only marred the city’s appearance but also contributed to illegal parking, temporary encroachments and traffic congestion. Such obstructions often narrowed roads and created difficulties for pedestrians and motorists, particularly around busy markets and intersections.

The district administration said the crackdown against illegal billboards and encroachments would continue without discrimination, with the aim of improving traffic flow, clearing public spaces and maintaining a more orderly urban environment.
