Two killed, three critically injured in truck-rickshaw collision


Faisalabad: Two young men were killed and three others sustained critical injuries in a collision between a truck and a motorcycle rickshaw on Sheikhupura Road within the jurisdiction of the Balochni police station.



According to a Rescue 1122 spokesperson, the accident occurred on Monday when a speeding truck rammed into a motorcycle rickshaw in front of Sitara Chemical near Adda Johal. The impact severely damaged the rickshaw, trapping its passengers inside the wreckage.



Two passengers — Tanveer, 20, son of Shabbir, and Azam Ali, 18, son of Tariq-died at the scene after suffering fatal injuries. Rescue 1122 personnel rescued the remaining occupants from the wreckage, provided first aid, and shifted three critically injured victims –Abdullah, 25, son of Anwar; Afaq, 30, son of Razzaq; and Mohsin, 40, son of Sarwar-to Allied Hospital-I for further treatment.



The bodies were handed over to the police after completing medico-legal formalities. Police launched an investigation into the incident, the spokesperson added.
