Sialkot: Two mega stores in Daska were penalised with a total fine of Rs. 70,000 for charging customers above officially notified prices during a surprise inspection by Assistant Commissioner Daska Sadia Jaffer.
According to a district administration spokesperson, the inspection was carried out in response to public complaints. The assistant commissioner compared the prices of essential commodities with the official price list and inspected the quality, expiry dates and displayed prices of products at the stores.
She directed the store managements to ensure the sale of quality goods at government-approved rates and warned that overpricing and other violations of official price regulations would not be tolerated.
