Karachi: Karachi police have finalised comprehensive security arrangements for processions and gatherings to be held on 12th Rabi-ul-Awwal, deploying 4,208 police officers and personnel across the city.
According to a Karachi police spokesperson on Tuesday, the security arrangements were made on the directives of Additional Inspector General of Police – Karachi, Azad Khan.
Of the total deployment, 1,702 police officers and personnel will be deployed in the South Zone, 765 in the East Zone, 397 at Nishtar Park and 362 at entry points.
The police chief directed officers to remain fully alert along all procession routes and instructed traffic police to ensure smooth traffic flow. He also ordered effective monitoring of the security situation through CCTV surveillance.
The Karachi police said all possible measures were being taken to protect the lives and property of citizens and maintain a peaceful environment in the city.
