Dera ismail khan: The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Dera Ismail Khan announced the results of the annual Matriculation examinations, with the overall pass percentage for Class-IX recorded at 87. 37 percent and Class-X at 94. 18 percent.
Director Elementary and Secondary Education Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Jaffar Mansoor Abbasi was the chief guest at a ceremony held to announce the results. Chairman BISE Dera Ismail Khan Prof. Dr. Ehsanullah, Controller Examinations Dr. Qaiser Anwar, Secretary Dr. Qayyum Nawaz, board officers, principals, district education officers, teachers, students and parents attended the ceremony.
According to the results, a total of 25, 521 candidates appeared in the Class-IX examinations, of whom 22, 298 were declared successful, registering a pass percentage of 87. 37 percent.
Similarly, 24, 927 candidates appeared in the Class-X examinations, while 23, 477 candidates passed, with an overall pass percentage of 94. 18 percent.
In the Matric Science Group, Hafsa Noor, daughter of Muhammad Saleem, of Lead School and College, secured first position by obtaining 1, 177 marks. Muaz Khan, son of Syed Khan, of Cadet College Spinkai, South Waziristan, secured second position with 1, 173 marks, while Misbah Aslam, daughter of Muhammad Aslam, of Al-Abbas Science School and College, stood third with 1, 168 marks.
In the Arts Group, Andeela Bibi, daughter of Irfanullah, of Government Girls Higher Secondary School Mulazai, Tank, secured first position with 1, 073 marks.
Three candidates jointly secured second position with 1, 071 marks. They included private candidate Hazratullah, son of Khan Badshah; Ayesha Nawaz, daughter of Allah Nawaz, of Government Girls High School Yarik, Dera Ismail Khan; and private candidate Razaullah, son of Kamaluddin.
Private candidate Muhammad Fayyaz, son of Muhammad Alam, secured third position in the Arts Group with 1, 070 marks.
Addressing the ceremony, Jaffar Mansoor Abbasi congratulated the high-achieving students and said education was the foundation of progress and development of any society.
He said students were the future of the country and should utilize their abilities in positive and constructive activities along with acquiring quality education.
He also congratulated the parents and teachers of the successful students, saying their guidance, support and hard work played an important role in their children’s success.
The director appreciated the chairman and administration of BISE Dera Ismail Khan for ensuring good results and effective management.
Chairman BISE Dera Ismail Khan Prof. Dr. Ehsanullah said the Matriculation examination results were the outcome of the hard work of students, teachers and parents.
He congratulated the position-holding students and urged successful candidates to continue working hard and utilize their abilities to excel in higher education.
He also appreciated the efforts of board officers and staff for ensuring transparent conduct of examinations and preparation of results.
Controller Examinations Dr. Qaiser Anwar said transparency and merit were given top priority at every stage of conducting the examinations and compiling the results.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, position-holding students were presented with prizes and shields in recognition of their outstanding performance.
Chairman BISE Dera Ismail Khan Prof. Dr. Ehsanullah also presented a shield to the chief guest, Jaffar Mansoor Abbasi, on behalf of the board.
