Independence Day a renewal of national commitment: Prince Ahmed Umar Ahmedzai


Quetta: Parliamentary Secretary for Population Welfare Department and Balochistan Awami Party leader, Prince Ahmed Umar Ahmedzai stressed that August 14 is a day of renewal for Pakistanis, urging all citizens to unite and contribute to the country’s progress and prosperity.



He said that nations which fail to value the blessing of freedom eventually vanish from the pages of history.



Addressing a ceremony organized by the Regional Training Institute of the Population Department to mark Independence Day, Ahmedzai highlighted that Pakistan was achieved through relentless struggle, the sacrifices of martyrs, and the vision of the nation’s forefathers.



He reminded the audience that millions laid down their lives for the creation of Pakistan, and it is now the responsibility of every citizen to safeguard and strengthen the nation.



The event was also addressed by Secretary Population Zafar Baloch, UNFPA representative Saadia, and Principal of the Regional Training Institute, Dr. Kaukab. The speakers collectively emphasized that Pakistan’s independence is a divine blessing and a source of pride, achieved through immense sacrifices. They called for unity, national cohesion, and dedication to the country’s development.



Prince Ahmed Umar Ahmedzai recalled that the Pakistan Movement, under the inspiring leadership of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, culminated in the establishment of the state of Pakistan. He urged the younger generation to acquaint themselves with the objectives of independence and the nation’s core values, stressing that political and personal differences must be set aside for the sake of national solidarity.



He further said that building a strong and stable Pakistan requires harnessing both individual and collective abilities. He reiterated that the development of Balochistan and the welfare of its people remain a top priority.



The ceremony concluded with special prayers for the security of the nation, peace and prosperity in Balochistan, and the elevation of the ranks of the martyrs.
