Lahore: Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) President Faheem Ur Rehman Saigol Tuesday held a meeting with a delegation of traders from Beadon Road and discussed in detail the business activities in various markets of the area, issues confronting the trading community and measures required to further improve the business environment. The delegation was led by Usman Alam, President Electric Market Beadon Road, and Tahir Hafeez, President Hardware Market Beadon Road. Senior Vice President LCCI Tanveer Ahmad Sheikh was also present on the occasion.
The delegation included Mian Nawaz, Mian Zafar, Nasir Iqbal, Ehtisham Hussain and Tariq Waheed. During the meeting, the traders apprised the LCCI President of matters relating to commercial activities in different markets of Beadon Road and discussed various issues and challenges being faced by the business community. The delegation emphasized the need for a conducive environment to ensure continuity and growth of business activities in the markets.
The traders said that Beadon Road was an important commercial hub of Lahore, with a large number of traders associated with different businesses. They stressed that improved facilities, a better business environment and timely resolution of traders’ issues would not only benefit the business community but also contribute to broader economic activity.
The delegation appreciated the Lahore Chamber’s role in highlighting the concerns of the business community before the relevant forums. The traders said that, particularly in the prevailing economic environment, it was essential to provide businesses with confidence, facilities and a supportive environment so that they could expand their activities and contribute more effectively to the national economy.
Welcoming the delegation, LCCI President Faheem Ur Rehman Saigol said that the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry, being the representative body of the business community, would continue to play its role in resolving genuine issues of traders. He said that the Lahore Chamber would raise the concerns of the business community before the relevant government departments and forums and make every possible effort for their resolution.
He said the promotion of business activities in markets was extremely important for economic growth. Beadon Road and other markets of Lahore were making a significant contribution to trade, employment and overall economic activity. Providing traders with a conducive environment and addressing their problems in a timely manner were essential for strengthening economic activity, he added. Faheem Ur Rehman Saigol said that traders and industrialists were key partners in the country’s
economic development and that the views of the private sector and ground realities should be taken
into consideration while formulating business policies and making decisions affecting the business community.
He said that the Lahore Chamber served as an effective bridge between the government and the business community and would continue to communicate the genuine concerns of traders to the relevant authorities.
The LCCI President said that an increase in business activity contributed to employment generation, investment, government revenues and overall economic growth. He emphasized the need to provide
businesses with confidence, stability and necessary facilities so that they could play a greater role
in strengthening the national economy.
He further said the Lahore Chamber would strengthen its engagement with markets and trade organizations across Lahore. He assured the delegation that the genuine issues raised by Beadon Road traders would be taken up at the relevant forums and efforts would be made for their resolution.
LCCI Senior Vice President Tanveer Ahmad Sheikh also emphasized the need for joint efforts to address
the problems of the business community. He said that continuous engagement with market representatives helped in understanding traders’ concerns and developing practical recommendations for their resolution.
He said that the Lahore Chamber would maintain close coordination with traders and continue to extend its support for resolving their genuine issues and promoting a healthy business environment.
