Seerat of Holy Prophet (PBUH) provides universal message of peace, justice, tolerance: Ombudsperson


Lahore: The office of the Ombudsperson Punjab organised a solemn ceremony to commemorate Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH), highlighting the Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad’s (PBUH) teachings of peace, justice, compassion, tolerance and respect for human dignity, particularly the rights and dignity of women.



Ombudsperson Punjab Dr Najma Afzal Khan, officers and a large number of employees attended the ceremony, which began with the recitation of the Holy Quran and Naat-e-Rasool Maqbool (PBUH).



Speakers shed light on the Seerat-un-Nabi (PBUH), the teachings of the Holy Prophet (PBUH)



and his exemplary character.



Addressing the gathering, Dr Najma Afzal Khan said the teachings of the Holy Prophet (PBUH)



offered a universal message of peace, love, justice and tolerance for all humanity. She said Islam has accorded women dignity, honour, protection and an equal human status, while establishing comprehensive safeguards for their rights.



She said the Holy Prophet (PBUH) has laid particular emphasis on women’s education, dignity and respect, inheritance rights and their meaningful and dignified role in society. ‘Ensuring justice for women and protecting their rights is a practical manifestation of the teachings of Seerat-un-Nabi (PBUH),’ she added.



The ceremony concluded with a special prayer for the security, progress and prosperity of Pakistan, unity of the Muslim Ummah and stability of the country.
