Lahore: A delegation of Iqbal Academy Pakistan and Bazm-e-Fikr Lahore visited the mausoleum of Allama Muhammad Iqbal on 79th year of Independence.
Vice President Iqbal Academy Pakistan Dr. Shehzad Qaiser, Director Dr. Abdul Rauf Rafiqui (Sitara-e-Imtiaz), Head of Literature Department Dr. Tahir Hamid Tanoli and President Bazm-e-Fikr Lahore Engineer Inayat Ali laid a wreath at Iqbal’s tomb and offered Fateha.
The delegation also prayed for Pakistan’s safety, progress and prosperity and paid tribute to Allama Iqbal for his philosophy and leading role in the Pakistan Movement. Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Shehzad Qaiser said Allama Iqbal was a great thinker who awakened the Muslims of the subcontinent and provided the ideological foundation for turning the dream of freedom into reality.
He said the nation should make Iqbal’s philosophy, particularly the concept of Khudi, an integral part of its collective life. He also recorded his remarks in the visitors’ book. Noman Chishti, Faheem Arshad Chaudhry, Raja Muhammad Babar Khan, Muhammad Ishaq and Malik Asad Hanif were also present.
