Karachi: Opposition Leader in Sindh Assembly Ali Khursheedi visited Mazar-e-Quaid to pay tribute to father of the Nation Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah on 79th Independence Day, here on Friday.
Senior leader of MQM-P Dr Farooq Sattar also accompanied him. The Opposition leader Ali Khursheedi laid wreath and offered prayers at the mausoleum.
He also prayed for the security, stability and prosperity of the country. Talking to media persons, he said that Independence Day was a day of renewed commitment for Pakistanis living across the world.
He said that August 14 was not merely a day of celebration but it is also an opportunity to remember the great sacrifices made by our forefathers.
Khurshidi said the people of the subcontinent had rendered unparalleled sacrifices for the creation of Pakistan, adding that the ideals and teachings of father of the nation Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and thinker of Pakistan and poet of the East Allama Muhammad Iqbal remained a guiding light for the nation.
