PSX KSE-100 Index gains over 404 points


Islamabad: The benchmark KSE-100 Index of the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) experienced upward momentum on Tuesday, climbing 404.02 points, a positive change of 0.23 percent, to close at 177,370.71 points against 176,966.69 points recorded in the previous trading session.



The ready market witnessed a trading volume of 644.841 million shares, compared to 933.516 million shares traded in the previous session, while the traded value decreased to Rs 31.365 billion from Rs 44.100 billion.



Market capitalization increased to Rs 19.892 trillion from Rs 19.870 trillion recorded a day earlier.



Out of 499 companies that traded in the ready market, 223 posted gains, 229 suffered losses, while 47 remained unchanged, reflecting a highly competitive session.



Cnergyico PK led the volume chart with 117.904 million shares, followed by F. Nat.Equities with 79.300 million shares and Pak Refinery with 43.029 million shares.



Among the top gainers, Rafhan Maize Products Company Limited advanced by Rs 106.39 to settle at Rs 9,318.79, whereas Buxly Paints Limited surged by Rs 59.53 to close at Rs 654.84.



On the losing side, Sindh Abadgars Sugar Mills Limited declined by Rs 37.24 to close at Rs 352.25, while Siemens (Pakistan) Engineering fell by Rs 36.61 to Rs 1,516.25.



In the futures (DFC) market, turnover stood at 472.400 million shares with a traded value of Rs 27.235 billion, compared with 572.304 million shares worth Rs 24.093 billion in the previous session.



Of the 311 companies traded in the DFC market, 148 advanced, 154 declined, and 9 remained unchanged.
