Karachi: Sindh Governor Syed Muhammad Nehal Hashmi marked Pakistan’s Independence Day by hoisting the national flag during a ceremony held at the Governor House. The Governor recited the national anthem, raised the national flag, and offered prayers for the peace, prosperity and security of the country.
Addressing the ceremony, the Governor Hashmi said, “Work, work, and more work” should be the nation’s guiding principle. He emphasized that every citizen must perform their duties with dedication, hardwork and integrity.
He also stressed the importance of cleanliness, saying that keeping homes, schools, neighborhoods and cities clean is a shared responsibility. He urged all citizens to play their part in Pakistan’s development and prosperity.
As a symbol of peace, the Governor released white doves into the air during the ceremony.The event was attended by Minister of State Khel Das Kohistani, Fahd Haroon, and other distinguished guests. Schoolchildren also participated enthusiastically in the Independence Day celebrations.
