PML-N KP arranges ceremony in connection with Independence day celebrations


Peshawar: A dignified and simple Independence Day ceremony was held at provincial secretariat of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) that was chaired by Federal Minister and PML-N Khyber Pakhtunkhwa President Engineer Amir Muqam.



Party office bearers, workers and representatives of various affiliated wings attended the ceremony in large numbers.



Addressing the gathering, Engineer Amir Muqam paid rich tribute to Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah saying that Quaid’s vision, inspiring leadership and the historic struggle paved way for creation of separate homeland for Muslims of the subcontinent.



He said that on independence day, the nation renewed its resolve to safeguard Pakistan’s independence, sovereignty, security, constitutional supremacy and national unity.



He called upon people of KP to stand shoulder to shoulder with law enforcement agencies in the fight against terrorism paying tribute to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the defence and security of the motherland.



He highlighted the role of Pakistan’s armed forces in demonstrating exceptional professionalism, courage and national resolve in foiling evil designs of the enemy.



He welcomed the historic defence cooperation and understanding among Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Trkiye saying that enhanced defence and strategic cooperation among the three brotherly Muslim countries was an important development for regional peace, stability and collective security.



He said Pakistan was committed to further strengthening cooperation with its brotherly countries, on the basis of mutual respect, shared interests and regional peace.



Engineer Amir Muqam also expressed complete solidarity with the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) and said that Kashmiri people had been facing prolonged oppression, restrictions and serious human rights violations.



He said Pakistan, on the occasion of Independence Day, assured its Kashmiri brothers and sisters that it would never abandon its support for their legitimate struggle and right to self-determination.



He reiterated that Pakistan would continue its moral, diplomatic and political support for the Kashmiri people until they achieved their right to self-determination in accordance with the relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.



He urged PML-N workers to make the principles of Unity, Faith and Discipline, as emphasized by Quaid-e-Azam, the guiding principles of their political and national lives. He called upon them to prioritize public service and play their full role in promoting Pakistan’s development, prosperity, stability and national unity.



The ceremony concluded with special prayers for Pakistan’s security, development and prosperity, the elevation of the ranks of the martyrs and the freedom of the Kashmiri people.



Participants raised enthusiastic slogans of ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ and ‘Pakistan Paindabad’, reaffirming their commitment to playing their role with national unity and determination for the cause of Pakistan and Kashmir.



Meanwhile, on the directives of PML-N Khyber Pakhtunkhwa President Engineer Amir Muqam, district and tehsil-level PML-N organizations across the province also organized various events to mark Independence Day.
