Lahore: A ceremony was held at the Punjab Institute of Cardiology Lahore on Friday to mark the 80th Independence Day of Pakistan, with Provincial Minister for Health Khawaja Salman Rafique participating as chief guest.
Parliamentary Secretary for Health Rushda Lodhi, Executive Director PIC Professor Syed Imran-ul-Hassan Shah and Medical Superintendent Dr. Aamir Rafique Butt were also present at the ceremony.
The Provincial Minister cut the Independence Day cake and offered prayers for the development, prosperity and security of the country.
Addressing the ceremony, Khawaja Salman Rafique congratulated the nation on Independence Day and said that freedom is a great blessing from Allah Almighty. He said Pakistan had been achieved after immense sacrifices by the nation’s forefathers.
He said Allah Almighty has blessed Pakistan with numerous resources and opportunities, adding that the sacrifices rendered for the creation of the country should always be remembered.
Parliamentary Secretary Rushda Lodhi said that Pakistanis are proud to be citizens of their beloved country and reaffirmed the commitment to continue serving the nation with dedication and sincerity.
Executive Director PIC Professor Syed Imran-ul-Hassan Shah thanked Provincial Health Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique for visiting the institution and participating in the Independence Day ceremony.
MS Dr. Aamir Rafique Butt said that the Punjab Institute of Cardiology is taking measures to provide improved facilities and better healthcare services to patients visiting the hospital.
