Lahore: Punjab Minister and Vice Chairperson of the Overseas Pakistanis Commission Punjab Barrister Amjad Malik on Friday extended heartfelt felicitations to the nation on the 80th Independence Day, saying that the creation of Pakistan was the result of the unparalleled sacrifices, struggle and determination of their forefathers.
Barrister Amjad Malik said freedom was a great blessing from Allah Almighty, and valuing and protecting it was the collective responsibility of every citizen. “Independence Day provides an opportunity to remember the sacrifices of our forefathers and renew our commitment to the development, stability and prosperity of Pakistan.”
He said the entire nation must unite and play its role in the country’s development and prosperity. “By making the principles of unity, faith and discipline an integral part of our national life, we can make Pakistan stronger and more stable,” he added.
The Provincial Minister said overseas Pakistanis were playing an important role in the development and prosperity of their homeland. Overseas Pakistanis were a valuable asset of Pakistan, while their skills, investments, experience and services were making a significant contribution to the country’s progress.
Barrister Amjad Malik urged overseas Pakistanis to continue playing their active role in Pakistan’s development, prosperity and the promotion of its positive image. He said overseas Pakistanis were ambassadors of Pakistan around the world, and their achievements were a matter of pride for the country.
He said that younger generation was the hope for Pakistan’s bright future and its greatest strength. Through their talent, education, hard work and positive thinking, young people could take Pakistan to new heights of progress.
Barrister Amjad Malik said that Independence Day provided an opportunity to renew their pledge to the principles of unity, faith and discipline. He stressed that national interest must be given priority above differences, and the nation must work together for Pakistan’s development, stability and prosperity.
He reaffirmed the resolve that the entire nation would continue to play its role in transforming Pakistan into a stronger, prosperous and developed country.
