Lahore: Punjab Prosecutor General Irfan Sadiq Tarar on Friday said rule of law and provision of justice were essential for the development and progress of the country, and called upon the prosecution department’s officials and staff to perform their duties with dedication, honesty and national spirit.
He was addressing the Independence Day ceremony held at the Office of the Prosecutor General Punjab, Lahore, where he hoisted the national flag and cut a cake to mark the 80th Independence Day.
The ceremony began with the flag-hoisting, followed by special prayers for the security, progress and prosperity of Pakistan. Officers and staff of the office participated in the celebrations.
Irfan Sadiq felicitated the entire nation on Independence Day and said freedom was a great blessing from Allah Almighty, which had been achieved through unprecedented sacrifices by the nation’s forefathers.
He said Independence Day reminded everyone of the responsibility to dedicate their abilities and efforts towards the development, peace and security of the country.
Irfan Sadiq said the Office of the Prosecutor General Punjab would further strengthen its efforts for the provision of justice to the people. He directed the staff to perform their duties with greater hard work, commitment, integrity and national spirit so that the rule of law and justice could be strengthened.
The ceremony concluded with prayers for the progress, prosperity, peace and security of Pakistan.
